Please give us a short summary of your website?
My website is an online gallery showcasing this amazing province through photography. Ihave many categories ranging from Architecture to Wildlife and all the subjects are Newfoundland.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have always loved photography and I just thought what a great idea to share my images with the rest of the world to showcase this wonderful province.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is my first website
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Everyone calls Newfoundland the "Rock" so I thought what a fitting title since my images are all about the "Rock"
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
What makes this site diferent is I use a technique in my photography that is now only making entrance into the mainstream world of photography.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My main goal is to open my own studio and sell my work. I am also interested in doing freelance work in and around Newfoundland.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I am only just starting out so right now all my time goes into this passion, my success have been good.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would open a studio and get new gear that would enable me to excel much more.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Not so much in that area yet as I am just now making a presence and word of mouth is now getting out about my work.
What has been your biggest challenge?
learning the craft.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is a lot more work that originally expected.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I have run my site for just over a year now and I will keep it up indefinetly
