Specializing in wedding photography and emotional video coverage of weddings in the Toronto GTA since 1981.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
The need to communicate with computer literate clients and to avoid the high cost of Yellow Page ads. These no longer being effective competition for internet ads
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The web site was first launched in 1996. It was the same as at present.The site is maintained by Bill personally and pages are changed and tweaked on a week to week basis.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The web site name is the same as our company names. This is a home based husband & wife team (semi retired). We previously operated two large studios at opposite ends of the city of Toronto. One in Mississauga and the other in Scarborough. We provide two basic services, Photography (Managed by Erin Browne) and Video (Managed by Bill Browne). Hence the web site name of = Browne Photography and Top Gun Video
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
We have over 25 years of experience in weddings. We offer a traditional style based on sound principles of Photography & story telling video. This provides for a product that is timeless. Just like the old masters of painting who's style is appreciated by all generations.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
The goal is to continue proving a product that brings pleasure to our clients and satisfies our creative desires.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
With an unlimited development budget we would like to add sample Video to a sub page as customers (from time to time) ask to see samples on the web. We usually ask that they visit to view samples under the best conditions.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes - we have several associates that we have trained who work part time with us when we have duplicate assignments for the same time period.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
nothing exceptional at this time
What has been your biggest challenge?
keeping up with advertising and standing out from the many photographers and video producers in the Toronto area.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We are still looking for methods to better promote our web site with a limited budget.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We have been running the site for about 11 years and do expect to continue for another three years.
