PhilPHotoScience Interview

By Interviewer at 04/12/09 17:17

Name of your website?

PhilPHotoScience

Your name?

PhilPhotoScience

Your Location (city, etc)

Dumaguete City and Cebu City

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Our website is all about photography. We do wedding and pre-nuptial photography much lower commercial rates compared to others, yet with much same if not better quality. We also cater to events, corporate events, parties, commercial shoots, etc. We are a group of professional photographers who just take photography by heart. It is our passion. So definitely, you will get a whole lot more for your money's worth. We combine techniques with art and our special touch - one that only we can give you.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Our combined passion for photography is the driving force behind the construction of http://www.philphotoscience.com. We wish to showcase our expertise and share to everyone the standard of our photography - which does not connote price. We have very reasonable rates.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Our website was just launched earlier.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Since we are a group of Philippine photographers who take our craft very seriously and with a passion, we decided on PhilPhotoScience.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Our website is not only a portfolio and a showcase. It also informs people of the various types of photography, provides tips on how to do photography and helps out new photographers find their way.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We hope to make our website a portal, foremost, for our photography business, and of course, as a pillar of Philippine photography.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

As most small businesses in the country, we started small, investing only in our equipment. However, we also invested in our technique, strategy and especially in our designs.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Just increase the storage limit.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We have a website manager - when this happens, we should be able to create a system that will cater to all the upcoming demands.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The usual problem of speed, especially that the site deals with too much pictures.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Our biggest problem is promoting the site without spending so much.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Blogging, referrals, links, opening community site accounts.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has actually met my expectations exactly.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Our site is new. We intend to maintain it consistently.

Replace this with a question of your own

Will you be able to help us market/promote our site?

What is your website address?
