Please give us a short summary of your website?

A new but growing collection of photographic images of France, with a particular emphasis on the western regions of the Pays de la Loire, Poitou Charentes and Limousin. Presented in a fully keyword searchable gallery, the site contains high quality images suitable for commercial use in magazines, postcards, tourism brochures, greeting cards and books.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was a an online catalogue of the UK postcards and greetings cards published by my former wholesale business. This first went live in about 1998.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name "France in Photos" was a result of a search of available domains that closey matched my sites content.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

All the photography contained in the site is produced by myself, with a potential use, and the potential user - ie publisher, art director, image buyer - kept in mind, so that the images are all suited for filling a specific illustrative purpose somewhere.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

This particular site is new, but it is a sister site to my UK photography library site ScenicBritain.co.uk. Although only providing a part of my income at present, I am in a position to grow the business and websites to whatever level I can achieve - there is no great hurry, I just want to get it right.

What motivates you in maintaining your website?

MAinly a love of photography and a desire to expand my photographic collection to cover as much of France as I can, plus a fascination with computers and the net as tools for maintaining and pomoting a business.
